About this site

Diving in Bali is a free, independent guide. There are no bookings here, no affiliate links, no "partner" operators paying for placement, and no pop-ups asking for your email in exchange for a PDF. We think the best dive guide for Bali should just be… good, and free, so we're building that.

Who's "we"? We live in Bali and we build SamaDive, a free dive-buddy app starting in Amed & Tulamben. This site is how we give something to every diver coming to the island, whether they ever use the app or not. That's the whole business model, and it's not much of one — deliberately.

We try hard to keep facts current — depths, seasons, chamber phone numbers, course prices — but Bali changes and the ocean changes faster. Always confirm conditions with a local operator, and if you spot something wrong or missing, tell us at hello@samadive.com. Corrections make the site better for the next diver; that's the deal.

Who writes this

Tony Roseman. British, living in Bali, diving Amed and Tulamben most weeks, and the founder of SamaDive and PT Tropical Tech Labs. Every site guide on this site is written from dives he has actually done, then checked against the local centres; the dive sites added by listed centres are published in their own words and say so. If a depth, a season or a price here is wrong, it is his mistake to fix: hello@samadive.com.

Who publishes this

Diving in Bali is published by PT Tropical Tech Labs, a registered Indonesian company (NIB 2808250111174) based in Bali. The same company builds SamaDive, the dive buddy app this site supports. The guide itself carries no advertising, takes no commission and sells nothing — it is funded by the company, not by the dive centres on it.
